I have a nine year old son that has spent the majority of his life struggling in school, having extreme difficulties focusing on tasks, and then resulting with low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Skyler came to a point where he was ready to give up - he felt defeated and worthless. As a mom I was crushed. My little boy, my precious kind-hearted son seemed so lost. I asked medical doctors and educational professionals to help me. I couldn't watch my son suffer anymore. All they could offer me was tests. Then, a friend came to me and told me how she had just enrolled her son in Karate America. She was thrilled with not only the program, but was especially impressed with sensitivity of the instructors. She told me how the program was based on focus and technique but above all respect for self and confidence building. At that very moment my heart stopped - this program seemed like an answer for my son. I had hope - there was now a light at the end of my tunnel.

I signed my son up for a 30-day trial membership. We went to our first class and Skyler absolutely loved it. The instructors gave him individual attention without singling him out - he felt so good and proud to have learned karate moves - actual karate moves in one night. That light that was in my heart before I signed Skyler up for the program, was now in my sons eyes.

I can't recommend enough Karate America in DeForest for any child suffering with ADD/ADHD, or any sort of learning disability. These instructors have a way of making children feel so worthwhile, competent and special. I have yet to find any other program that could give my son that kind of attention and confidence.

At the end of January Skyler will advance to his gold belt. I can't tell you how proud he will be of himself and how much he has learned to love himself. Mr. & Mrs. Plumer, along with their staff literally gave my family my son's life back.
